Please fullview to see the little butterflies in better detail.
My grandfather and dad are both collectors of stamps, and they passed the bulk of their collections down to me when I was pretty young, not even double digits yet. I've always loved the beautiful designs of stamps, the stories they tell and the history imbued in them...
Whilst cleaning up my room last month (for the first time in over a DECADE) I looked through some of my stamps-in-waiting (stamps that are still stuck on the original envelopes) and found a treasure trove from the Christmases of '98 and '99. Lots of them have a little metallic gilt to them, especially the ones that feature angels, and I thought they'd work beautifully as butterfly wings.
Each of these teeny things is inspired by Michael Lafosse's butterflies, though only two here are completely designed by him, and each one is unique.
Thank you for looking!
