Sun and moon by synconi Sun and moon by synconi
(Yes, that's a one pence coin as a size reference. They're quite a teeny pair! :giggle:)

I've always been fascinated by stories and myths about the sun and the moon...opposites and partners, caught in an endless chase across our sky. Then, as I was folding the Zodiac last month, the legend of the origins of the Zodiac came to mind. Cat and rat had been the closest of friends once upon a time until rat had betrayed his friend, and since that day they have been enemies.

Perhaps the sun and moon were best friends once, but now the sun rat flees as his once-upon-a-time friend, the moon cat, prowls after him...

Thank you for looking!

Those are so tiny!   I have never attempted anything so small but, I have a good idea on how difficult it would be, great job!

Did you pose them on a tablet (or phone) screen?  I might just have to "borrow" that idea one of these days.  :mwahaha:

Folding tiny is one small (haha) and ongoing obsession of mine. I started to do it when I had a paper drought so I tried to save paper...and I'm just fascinated by things in miniature. Thank you!

Hehe and yes, it is a screen. I had a certain background in mind and also wanted to capture the reflections of the pair. :eager:

WOW that is so fantastic! I really love the shapes of them both and how you used gold and silver color! It really matches! The fact that they're both smaller than coins is so amazing and majestic! The detail is amazing!

Looks like you like making small models xD
Isn't it quite hard? I mean, it's really cool but smaller than a coin :o Really nice job!
Very nice colors and photographing again! It's great how you made those out of golden and silver paper, which makes it kinda shiny, and the starry background fits so well! Also it's amazing that it also contains a little story ^-^
And how the rat symbolises the sun and the cat symbolises the moon! And you have the coin again, to show how small it is ^-^

Great job, I love this one ;)

I DO like making little origami, how could you tell?? =P
The process is a bit like torture but I am entranced by how small you can make things...how a teeny square of paper can turn into that!

Thank you for your heart-warming comment

God I don't like how those smileys look like -.-
Let's use Oops! and w00t!  instead of O.o and ;)

Deviantart has some nice smileys, they shouldn't use those "ugly" ones as the normal ones :happybounce:

Oh Love.. This is the most adorable thing I've seen recently. So heartwarming.
Bow down for the skills of course, mini-origami must require so much patience and detailed handwork. Respect.

That looks amazing and impossible for me to fold with a really small piece of paper, but wouldn't you make the mouse smaller than the cat so that it looks realistic?

Thank you! Ha, I DID think about folding a smaller rat after I saw how this one turned out, but couldn't quite bear to fold another one that was even smaller...maybe one day. But not today. ;)
