Hello my friends!

I've been meaning to post this journal for a while but have only got to it now. Just to let you know that I am up for COMMISSIONS. Whether you would like something that you've seen in my gallery, or would like to request some exotic origami creation as a decoration/gift/way to give me grey hairs, just shoot me a note and I'll see what I can do.

To date, I have done three commissions:

1) 90 miniature roses as wedding favours
2) 7 miniature cranes for a to-scale dolls' house
3)

I only do origami commissions and only accept payment through PayPal but everything else is negotiable. (Also, am willing to mail stuff to ya wherever you're at, but expect it to cost an arm and a leg if you live in Antarctica. :B)

SO HIT ME. :eager:

DEAR 2500

Wed Mar 2, 2011, 8:33 AM

A work in progress...should be finished by Friday!

M O I

I went to see Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles last sunday and it was SO TOTALLY AWESOME. Sara's voice is spectacular and strong and Maroon 5 completely melted us with their incredible music and general hawtness...:faint:

My friend and I were worried that we wouldn't be able to see very much as we're both quite little in size, and our tickets meant that we would be standing for the whole duration of the concert. In reality everything worked out well: the crowd wasn't a pushy one at all and we ended up right up near the stage (we queued in the freezing cold for TWO HOURS to ensure this) and had a superb view of the bands. I wanna go see them again!!!

What was the last band you saw live? :eager:

A COMMUNITY PROJECT OPEN TO EVERYBODY!

:iconpapercraneplz:

To mark Fella's 11th birthday, we (`synconi and ~moth-owl) are holding a very special project: FOLD A CRANE FOR FELLA!

A thousand cranes, or senzaburu, are often made by paperfolders and according to Japanese legend, a wish is granted to all those who complete such a task. This time, we are asking YOU to fold up to five cranes each and all your contributions will be compiled into a huge work, ready to gift Fella with a wish for his next birthday.

Remember- you don't need to be an origami expert, this may be the first and last time you fold anything, just have some fun and give it a go (and win some prizes along the way...)!

Details

:bulletred: Up to FIVE entries per deviant

:bulletorange: One origami crane visible per photo

:bulletyellow: Photos in square format, at least 400px wide

:bulletgreen: Submit to community projects > projects & clubs > 1000 deviants 1000 cranes

:D

Thu Jan 6, 2011, 10:34 AM
Chugging along placidly with my Mechanics 4 textbook, I sat working in the school library at 1.22pm. Earphones in, brain a-ticking...
Then my phone vibrates fiercely at me like an over-excited hornet.

It's my mum.

She saw the postman at the bottom of our road this afternoon and raced down the street to demand he hand over all the mail for house number 10. (He's not going to say no to the crazy tiny chinese lady.) She opened the letter right where she stood. And then she called me.

I might have died of happiness.

I HAVE AN OFFER FROM CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY.

M O I

Only two more exams (both maths) are left for me next week! I'm really pleased that all of them have gone really well so far so things are looking good for my university applications in the autumn. Apart from revising my ass off, I've been drawing a bit, folding a bit, cooking a bit...there's a llama army devouring my desk as we speak. :lmao:

I'm really looking forward to the summer holidays! We're going back to Hong Kong this year and luckily I can bring my netbook this time and stay on dA!

</div>

I've missed you all, so much! I've been meaning to explain my appalling lack of self here for a while, but it's so hard to snatch a moment from time's slavering jaws...

M O I

YES, so basically, I've been settling into sixth form at school, adjusting to the heavy workload and independent study. The teachers are much less "teachers", they guide your study rather than strictly directing it, so you have to be really self-motivated. It's a challenge...
I study only four subjects now, instead of my previous eleven. They are:

:bulletpink: Double Mathematics
:bulletyellow: Latin
:bulletgreen: French
:bulletblue: English

And since September, I've found that I really enjoy them all, but I am truly passionate about Maths. So I'm set now, I want to read Mathematics at uni! Preferably at Pembroke College, Cambridge...t'is so gorgeous!

That's another thing, I haven't even had weekends free in the past couple of months. Either I'm off at university open days (I'm off to Edinburgh in a week's time, and then doing a sweep of North England) or I have music lessons, Church worship practices and jam sessions, or studying and extra reading, or just spending time with and praying with friends.

V O U S

Tell me what's been going on with you!!! :eager:

I don't know when I'll be back properly, so please don't forget me in the mean-time!
I WILL BE BACK! :iconanimefaceplz:

P.S. Lots of people still waiting for the latter part of the PANDA TUTORIAL- I have no clue when I can cobble that together. I have a short holiday in a couple of week's time when I'll try and get it done, but no promises!

DREAMING OF SUMMER

Journal Entry: Mon May 11, 2009, 6:18 AM

Heya guys!!!

I haven't written a journal in so long that I've completely forgotten how to use my CSS! :giggle:
Feeling kinda high at the moment...the sun's out and it's so bright and blue and gorgeous! ^____^

SO. How have you guys been???
Me? I've been surprisingly good. Revision is crazily tiring but makes you feel like you've done something really worthwhile.

We were let off on study leave last Wednesday, and the exams are quite spaced out to begin with, so everything's pretty relaxed so far. The first exam was last Thursday and it's not until June that they start piling on, and then I'll really be working hard...>________>

My friends have "booked" me for a maths tutoring session tomorrow, and I need to practise organ, so I'll be at school most of this week anyway.
No idea what I was thinking, but I've got all my important GCSE exams, my grade 8 piano and my grade 5 organ exam between now and the end of June! :faint:

:bulletblue: Dreaming of summer yet? What are you most anticipating??

I love everything about summer...the sunlight streaming in through the trees and into the shady house; melted ice-cream, all creamy-sweet and cool on my lips; the awesome feeling of invincibility behind oversized sunglasses; the freedom and optimism and the unrestrained laughter and the way everything just feels so right in the world...

***

I'll be back on my second birth-dA-y then, after my final exam that morning!

Keep smiling.

P.S. I'll be around on Facebook still, so feel free to add me there.

VOICES

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 24, 2009, 4:27 AM

THANK YOU!!! :happycry:

We went to Parliament on Wednesday!

I've never been before and found the visit totally fascinating- all the history and gorgeous architecture, not to mention our extended tour of the Palace of Westminster, learning how the whole thing works...

If you ever get the chance to, I'd highly advise you to try and arrange a tour of Parliament.
It's highly worth it, even with the time spent getting through security!

Oh and for any of you interested, THIS is my voice, late on Wednesday, crazily tired from the day out in London...Hope the link works better now!

I'd love to hear your voice, if possible, too!
Singing is best of course, but normal talking will do fine. ;)

:bulletblue: Do you like your own voice?

I've never minded mine, really. Never been able to control it very well when singing, but I think it suits me quite well.
Also, I love really English accents, and I kinda have one. :B

KEEP SMILING.

P.S. I'm sorry for disappearing this week. :(
Promise I'll warn you next time I might have to do that again, and please don't worry about me!!!

HELP

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 21, 2008, 9:45 AM

PLEASE ONLY REPLY TO THIS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

My Dad would like to buy a DSLR camera for my birthday, and I need your help with choosing one!

He has given me a list of most possibles:

:bulletblue: Nikon- D40, D60 or D90
:bulletblue: Sony- A200 or A350
:bulletblue: Canon- 1000D or 450D
:bulletblue: Olympus- e420SE

But he has also said that if I find any camera I prefer especially, as long as it is reasonably affordable, he will consider buying me it. :)
Even if you can only comment about your own DSLR, or about what to look for generally, I'd really appreciate the help!

Thank you in advance!
